WCC to Celebrate 55th Anniversary

Wytheville Community College celebrated its 55th Anniversary during the 2018-19 academic year.   The college opened its doors in 1963 as a branch campus of Virginia Polytechnic Institute & State University (now Virginia Tech) and then transitioned to the newly formed Virginia Community College System in 1967.

WCC has a strong history of serving the region,” said Dr. Dean E. Sprinkle, WCC President.  “Almost everywhere I go in our service region, I meet someone who attended or graduated from WCC.  I am proud to be a part of the college and look forward to celebrating WCC’s 55th Anniversary. We know that WCC has helped educate and train literally thousands of individuals over the years. While it is impossible to know what has happened to every graduate, we want to share at least some of the stories of how WCC has made a difference in the lives of students and in the communities that we serve
